City boss hailed the impact of substitute Paul Dickov after the veteran came off the bench to salvage a 1-1 draw with Colchester. A poor performance by the Foxes as they struggle to compete with a strong "U's" performance that Lambert
hailed as the best he has see since he joined them.
The U's had taken a 23rd-minute lead when ex city winger Mark Yeates curled a right-footed free-kick home from 22 yards (typical ex player stuff eh) but Dickov scored within 30 seconds of entering proceedings to earn Leicester a
hard-fought point.
The Scot levelled in the 66th minute when Matt Oakley scooped back in a half-cleared corner which Colchester goalkeeper Marc Cousins had only parried to allow Dickov to show quick feet and fire home from 10 yards
Warner then kept the foxes level with two tremendous saves, first when he blocked a Clive Platt header at point-blank range and then when he stood his ground to beat away a shot from Yeates.
The big problem today, not for the first time this season, was losing the battle in central midfield with Andy King looking a bit part player for most of the game and Oakley had a stinker!
Substitute Lloyd Dyer was denied a late winner on 87 minutes after his shot was well saved by Cousins.
On-loan Manchester United starlet Tom Cleverley is likely to miss making his England U20s debut after he suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder it looked like a bad fall lets hope the youngster can get back to 100% ASAP.
City assistant Shakespeare stated: "He has suffered a shoulder injury, a suspected dislocation and has gone to hospital. We're just waiting to know how serious it is but it is a huge disappointment because he could now miss making
his England debut."
A point gained today on a poor performance, but lets hope we can get out of this league sooner rather than later, and to a league where the offcials can do the job properly (anyone who was at the game knows what I mean)!
