Tenacious midfielder Steve arrived from Blackburn in 1993 for £250,000 and quickly made his mark in the heart of City's midfield.
Tough in the tackle and as much energy as David Beckham (honestly!), he played a vital role in City's resurgence in the 90's. He took over the captaincy when Gary Mills was injured and in his first game in charge City thumped Rochdale 6-1 in the Coca Cola Cup!
